Aiconic is looking for a data engineer to join our team based in Vienna. You will work with our growing team of data scientists, engineers, and hackers to solve interesting problems in finance and build novel products that improve experiences for business and consumers. In this role, the ability to ship functional tools & systems quickly on a deadline is just as important as the ability to build systems that are robust, reliable, and maintainable. Having pretty much tried every data engineering tool at least once, you will have the ability to autonomously make architecture choices and contribute to the decision making process as part of the team, drawing heavily on your personal experience. You care deeply about reproducible, scalable pipelines and clean data sets. You can write program logic in SQL (not that you'd want to). You can refactor an ETL project in a few days if provided with enough liquid motivation. You can take a pipeline that is behaving erratically and make it produce the same result every time. You understand how to communicate with machine learning researchers about your pipelines and tools and can teach them how to utilize them.
